Henderson, Nevada --- Dave Gene Hauser, long time resident of the Las Vegas area, and known dog/cat trainer has died suddenly after lung surgery August 20, 2013.
Mr. Hauser was heavily involved in saving animals, mainly felines and our furry friends. He dedicated his whole life to the rescue, training, welfare and other needs to cats and dogs in his community and surrounding areas, even making special trips to Los Angeles from his home in Vegas to see clients.
At the time of his death, Dave Hauser was working on class schedules and new techniques for owners and their pets. His clients, new and old, were responding to his new classes and ideas.
Hauser also collected a vast store of antiques, keepsakes and many artistic pieces his own mother had made. He was a very private and eccentric gentleman, and spoke softly and quietly. He was very gentle and kind to both animals and people and always admitted if he was wrong, or if something was not quite up to par on his part. He never backed down for a challenge and even offered other options to his clients if his failed.
No one had a bad word to say about Dave Hauser, 55, because he worked hard to make his business of helping owners and families with their pets, and was getting quite successful at it.
He loved animals, animal rights and collecting antiques and collecting in general. He had a knack of knowing what worked and what was a fad. Many times he would hear the stories of friends and family, and if it sounded outlandish or far out, he would calmly disagree and make his point without hurting anyone.
If more of a gentler man existed, it was Dave Gene Hauser, who took care of his ailing mother when she became ill, and for 6 years cared for her many needs, until her death in 2001. After spending years in Los Angeles, he finally made the jump to Las Vegas and lived in the house his parents spent their golden years in. He was in Henderson Nevada for 10 years when he passed away after lung surgery.
He leaves an older brother, Lewis Hauser, 59, a well known play director in Los Angeles, sister-in-law Leslie SIegel Hauser, and step-uncle Louis Block. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him. R.I.P. he can now be with his own dog "Spirit".
